WELCOME TO THE DEBNATH LAB
Dr. Jayanta (Jay) Debnath, MD, is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Pathology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). He is affiliated with the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program, Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, Breast Oncology Program, and the Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights.
The Debnath Lab is located at the Parnassus campus of UCSF, in the Health Science West Building. Our lab studies the role and regulation of autophagy in epithelial homeostasis as well as cancer pathogenesis. Using in vitro and in vivo approaches, our research focuses on epithelial cell fate and tissue homeostasis, oncogenic transformation and tumor formation, and chemotherapeutic response in cancer cells.
